A sound post setter is essential in moving and properly setting up the sound post on a Violin or Viola. The sharp end allows you to "stab" the sound post and hold move it into position when traveling through the "f" hole. The other end of the sound post setter allows you to "walk" the sound post at the bottom plate or pull/push it near the top plate of the instrument.

The sound post we sell may or may not have the protective rubber sleeve as shown here.
